just call me .....

I think I should change the title of my blog to "just call me mom." Yup, that's right, mom.

I will in fact be a mom.

It is definitely not something I had planned for myself, but it is happening. I am very excited about it and can't wait to meet the little life that is currently growing inside of me. (Also, the faster I get to meet it, the faster I am able to get back into my pre-pregnancy clothes!)

I am sure more will come as time goes by.

But for right now, just call me mom.

the sign that reads "prayers accepted"

"And I say unto you, Ask, and it shall be given you; seek, and ye shall find; knock, and it shall be opened unto you.For every one that asketh receiveth; and he that seeketh findeth; and to him that knocketh it shall be opened." Luke 11:9 -10

I have been asking God all summer for several things, but the main one being a J - O - B!

I pray for a job, and I also pray for love. And I mean true love. I am not saying that tomorrow I want to meet a man and have him come sweep me off my feet and wham bam thank you mam there it is .... I want to meet a man, befriend him, have love for one another as people develop, and then take it from there, eventually falling in love. I want to know what it is like to have an adult relationship progress at a normal level. And, I don't want to do the awkward first date thing. I really truly want to fall in love with someone that I already love as a friend. To me, that seems so much better. I want to know what it is like to be with someone that actually deserves me and appreciates me. I don't know when that is going to happen, but I do pray for it every day.

I pray for my family. I know everyone has family issues, but I know mine are extreme and elevated. With that being said, I pray for my family because I know eventually everything will fall back on me. I pray that when it does I will be ready.

I pray for my friends, and particularly one who is going through a really hard time right now. Some major life decisions are being made by this individual and I hope that they are the right ones.

I will continue to ask until He provides the solutions and answers to all of my prayers. And I know that He will.

Simple story, huh?

So ... I hold up a sign to the world that reads, "Prayers Accepted."

the end is always a beginning .... right?

So, I am officially, legitimately, and successfully a graduate of the wonderful Mississippi State University.....

HOLY CROW! I GRADUATED!

I can not even begin to fathom the reality of this. I am an adult, for real. I have 'been on my own' for many years now. I am an independent woman. But now, I do not have the excuse of being a college student to lean back on.

So here it is... The end of college... The beginning of life.

Oh boy!

Here are a few of my favorite pics from the big weekend :)

Me and my *wonderful* boyfriend :)

Tod, me, and Stitch ... I adore these two fellas!

Me and Ben! We spent the majority of our time at State together ... It only made sense to walk together.

Me and Crystal ... Partners in crime, for sure!

moving on .....

Today I realized that I am a terrible blogger! But, I have a good excuse. I have been busy .

Spring break was nice, relaxing, etc ....
But, when I got back Monday it was like WHAM!! Back to the grind of things. And boy, were they grinding! Lesson plans, tests, students, life .... It never ever stops!

Then, over the weekend, I came to a sad realization. After a conversation that I had with Ben on Saturday while we were out shopping, I realized that he and I were just at two completely different places .... We are just two completely different people .... We want to do completely different things with our lives .... So, Ben is no longer my Ben. He is just now Ben. And, as sad as it is to let someone go that I have been with for over 5 years, I am happy to have followed my intuition. I feel like this is what I need in my life right now.

So, I am taking it easy! Whatever happens with my life, happens! Whoever comes along, comes along! Whatever job comes along, I will take it! I will get my master's degree eventually and apply for DODDS. I may be by myself, but I will be following my dreams. And, that is all that matters!

happy st. patrick's day, friends

Well, Happy St. Patrick's Day to everyone!! I LOVE this holiday! It is so much fun to celebrate and learn about! In fact, I have a very funny St. Patrick's Day learning story to share.....

During the month of February I taught all of my little bumble bees words that were related to black history. One of the words was...... heritage. Of course they did not understand what heritage was. Some thought you could just go buy heritage. So, Ms. Megan had to explain. By doing so, I explained to them that my family has a strong Irish heritage because somewhere down the line good ole' Westmoreland men decided to leave Ireland and come to the U.S. blah blah blah blah blah..... So, they got it!

Well, last week, in honor of St. Patrick's Day, one of our bonus words for spelling was..... Ireland. And, every week my sweet little bumble bees have to write a sentence with their spelling words. Some of the sentences are awesome, and some are not, to say the least. Well, one little girl, bless her dear sweet soul, turns her paper into me with a huge grin on her sweet face. And I take her paper. As I am reading it, I realized what she was grinning about. Would you like to know what her bonus word sentence said. I will tell you
"Ms. Megan is from Ireland."
Ha ha! Close, but no cigar!

So that is my funny St. Patrick's Day story! And in case you did not notice the time stamp on this bad boy, it is in fact 7:45 AM! Why in the dear Lord's name am I up on my Spring Break before the sun has even come up over this valley? I have no idea! I do know, however, that I am ridding into town with my parents this morning, at 10:00, for their doctors' appointments. Then, we are going to the grocery store to buy ingredients for our St. Patrick's Day feast!!

That is right, I will be cooking a St. Patrick's Day feast. On the menu today we have Shepard's Pie with a side of Roasted Cabbage and Apples! And for dessert, we will be having St. Patty's Day cupcakes! Oh yum!!

These recipes were taken from Kaboose. It is a fabulous website that I have been using A LOT during student teaching! It has tons of fun facts, activities, recipes, etc... for holidays! It would be great for moms to use as well. In fact, I think it was intended for mothers. Oh well! :-)

I am off to get ready for the parentals' doctor appointments! Everyone have a wonderfully fabulous day! Be sure to wear green.... !

the long journey to spring break

Hello again, bloggers and friends! I hope that everyone had a wonderful weekend! I did!

Thursday was my last day with the little ones at school.... Well, my last day until March 22. SPRING BREAK is certainly a much needed break. I had no idea that student teaching would be so difficult. I am definitely, slightly, put out! So, Thursday.... Last day at school before spring break.... The weather was beautiful! My class and I stayed outside for almost two hours. How can you beat that? Then, my roomie, her boyfriend, Ben, and I went to Mi Hacienda for some delicious Mexican cuisine!

This is me and the wonderful boyfriend at Mi Hacienda Thursday night!

Friday I had a boooorrrring class.... And then it was SPRING BREAK!! I drove to Hernando to spend some time with my brother, his wife, and their precious son, Axton. He is one of the three loves of my life! He is 11 months... Going on 30! He is such a doll! We went to Kyoto to eat dinner that night. And, I had hibachi for the first time ever! It was so delicious. I think I am hooked!

This is Axton at Kyoto.... He was trying to snatch his Aunt Meg's camera! :-)

So then on Saturday I went to my Nana's house, in Memphis. We spent some time shopping. We went to eat at a delicous German resturant in Southaven. It's called Mary's German something or another. If you are ever in Southaven, you need to go! It is on Goodman Road and Swaenea (sp?) next door to McAllister's. If you know where the Bruster's or Abner's in Southaven is, then you will be able to easily find it.

Then, Sunday..... I went and had lunch with my other brother, his fiance', their 7 month old son, Liam, and her 5 year old son, Jackson. Those two boys are the two other loves of my life. We ate at Poncho's on Summer Avenue. It was delicious.... As always!!

Liam, myself, and Jackson. Aren't these boys just too cute?

So, after a busy, family seeing weekend, I hopped in the Kia and headed to Arkansas to see the parents! I am here now, at my spring break destination! Hopefully I will be able to relax this week before returning the bustling life of a student teacher!

meg's first time

Eek! I have a blog! ..... You know, a place to post my 'ideals!'

I always wanted a blog. Well, truth be told, I have had one for the past five/six years. They have been in various forms though. First there was LiveJournal. Surely you all remember that one. Right? Then, there was good ole Xanga. That one died out quickly. Next came MySpace. This stayed around a little longer. And lastly, there was Facebook.

So anyway... These 'blogs' were fun. I enjoyed putting my thoughts for all the world, or all my friends to see. But then, I began Facebook stalking and stumbled upon several blogs that I loved reading. I always thought to myself, "I wish I were that interesting." And finally, tonight, I decided that I am!

So... here is my very first post!!!!! Far from perfect... closer to interesting... near to amazing!

I am off on my way to find cutsey layouts and creative things to make me .... er I mean my blog... interesting! Eeeekkk!!!
